Tournament format

Rules and progress for the trackmania karting cup ( that should be read )

The trackmania karting cup uses this format :

- First part

- Second part

- Semi-final

- Final

 

Step 1 - Pools/Groups

 

The start pools are draw lots and 7  players composed minimum..

The tournament is organized in cup mode.

 

          -Match 1 + repeat session

                    The first three in each group will qualify for the second match. The fourth, fifth and sixth and seventh  will have a repeat session where the 5 best of them will qualify for the second match.

 The tracks will be those of the first mappack.

         

          - Match 2

                    Players will be divided by pools and always composed by 7 players minimums. This distribution will be based on the results of the first match. The first of each group of the first round will be considered "seeded". There will be one or two seeds  in each group of the second match.

                    After this match, the top 4 in each group are qualify for the semi-finals or final (if there are no many players). 

The tracks will be those of the second mappack.

 

 

Step 2 - Final Phases

    

    -Semi-final

                     This match will look like the previous match. There will be pools composed by 7 players minimum. The first four will qualify for the final.

The tracks will be those of the third mappack.

 

 

           -Final

                     Players who have reached the final will be 8. This final will also organized in cup mode but with more points  to achieve. The first winner will be declared champion, the second winner will be second of the competition and the third winner will be the third player of this competition.

 

 

                ! !! If a large number of players a match will be add and if we are a small number of players a match will be removed.

The competition uses the TrackMania Nations Forever version.

 

Game Settings

The following game settings will apply during cup matches:

 

· Mode: Cup

· Players: 7 minimum

· Limit points: 100 (120 for the final)

· Limit round by map: 7 rounds

· Warmup round: 1

· Number of winners: 3 or 4

· Number of maps: 2 (2 maps / mappack)

Actions forbidden in game

A cut in a track is forbidden in a match.

Required to ride in the desired direction of the map.

Match format

A match in cup mode

A standard game is played in Cup mode with 7 players minimums with a maximum of 100 points on two tracks. Only the final will be played with a limit of 120 points.

At the end of each round, each players gain a nomber of points who match at their finishing position according to this traditional rule:

. 10 points for the winner of the run

. 6 points for the second

. 4 points for the third

. 3 points for the fourth

. 2 points for the fifth

. 1 point for the sixth and the seventh

 

If a player don't finish his round in the time, he don't gain any point. The server exchange of map after 7 rounds in a map. For win the players must have 100 points and finish first in an other round. Called "finalist" a player who reached 100 points and has yet to win a round to win the game. The match end when we are 3 players. The 3 winners of each group are qualified for the next round, the others are either qualified or eliminated (see the tournament format).

Before the match

Hour of the match start

The start of the match indicates the time when the match starts. Players must be present at least 10 minutes before the match start to avoid too much delay. The games will take place the weekend.

Each hour of start match is entered in the tournament schedule.

Players are invited to be updated with the tournament schedule.

 

Training

There will be a week for training the maps, because in general each round will take place on Sunday. So the first match in Sunday, the second next Sunday ...

 

During the match

Launch the game

An official match can not be started and played without an official administrator or a person named in the pool have given the starting signal. A match started without the approval of such person will be considered like an illegal game.

 

Interruption of a match

If a match is involuntary interrupted (crash, network disconnection, ...) the manager of the game can restart the game with the following rules:

 

           · If all players are disconnected the race is canceled and replayed.

           . If a player is disconnected during a run, the manager of the match have the obligation to prevent the next run to make it. If after five minutes the player is not reconnected the match resumes.

 

After the match

Request for investigation

When a player to estimate  victim of a violation of the rules during the match, the players should not stop the match as it is not finished. Once the match completed, the player may ask as investigation to the general administrator. It is strongly recommended to provide as much information as possible for help the administrator.

 

Validation result

At the end of the match, the administrator must give a screen of the final result of the match to the general administrator.

Start of the competition

The tournament normally begin  the Sunday 27th July 2014. ( Time will be given later and depend of your pool). I say "normally" because if there are not enought players ( minimum 20) , the competition will be shifted by a week.

Last date to send the maps

The karting maps should be sent at the latest 10 days before the start of the competition, so the 17th July. If your map will be selected for a mappack you will be notified.
